Nick Prescott

As a kid I built lego brick spaceships to destroy baddies and conquer alien worlds. Bigger and better each time - using every brick I had, even the odd ones that didn't match. I spent hours tracing with grease proof paper from the kitchen too, drawing and colouring in like nothing else mattered. My felt tips always dried up because I left the damn lids off. It was always about losing myself in the story, the fantasy I could create in my head and live out through the things I made. That desire to make things and create ways to bring ideas to life is what still drives me today. It's embodied in what I've spent over 20 years calling work. With my team at Bravedog I'm still inventing, creating and shaping stories how we think they should be told. Got any lego?

Asking questions is the key to creating something that works. My whole life I have questioned everything, to the point that it's probably annoying to the ones closest to me. Every so often, by asking the right questions, we reveal something that can make the difference between average and amazing.

When I was 10 my father brought home a large mysterious  grey box with a colourful apple stuck to it, I flicked a switch and it came to life. Stored on this box was something called Photoshop… 10 minutes in and I was hooked. I still remember the first fridge worthy CD cover I designed, I used every filter in the library just because I could.

Some years later, armed with a backpack of optimism and a dash of youthful arrogance, I lugged my portfolio to London. I got a few good breaks and have been fortunate to have worked for some fantastic agencies; on brands like ASOS.com, Debenhams, Butlins, Alzheimer’s Society, British Horse Racing, and Which?.

Aside from my studio work, I have an endless list of personal projects on the go. I am currently in the process of re-developing my family home, a completely blank canvas limited only by my own imagination and my wife’s threshold for dust. I’m also trying very hard to be the best husband and dad I can be – my toughest brief to date but the most fulfilling.

I love people, so throw me in a room of strangers & I’m in my element, I’m the only one here who enjoys 7am networking events!

My career started in Media Planning in the 90’s where I worked at various big London agencies working with some famous brands like Nike, Starbucks, Nescafe & Mars. This was excellent experience into the world of advertising though I prefer working in a small agency where I can add value & do really meaningful work with smaller clients.

I embrace a challenge, so when I’m not at Bravedog I’m usually training for a marathon & hanging out with my family too; I have a husband, 3 kids & a dog called Peggy, they definitely keep me super busy!
