PetShed, a family run pet shop in Swindon, came to us to help them in their quest to increase general awareness of the store in and around Swindon and Wiltshire.
An important goal for PetShed was to be easily found on Google and other search engines by customers searching the web for local pet stores. This was going to be no easy feat considering the tough competition in the local area, where larger corporate stores dominate search results.
We took great care when building PetShed to insure that the site adheres to all modern web standards. We built the site for users not for search engines, which believe it or not the search engines love! The site has a clear hierarchy, which makes it easily indexable. We made sure the site was information-rich – good for customers, good for Google.
The site has been live now for a couple of months and through organic SEO alone (natural placement on search engine results pages i.e. no paid adverts) we have secured first page for the two most important search phrases:
The site is steadily growing in popularity, receiving more unique visitors month by month. It also boasts a good ‘Average Session Duration’ which means the site is capturing the audience’s attention and delivering content that visitors are engaging with.
It was an easy decision to work with PetShed, we share the same belief that customers will buy into you when you truly believe in what you are selling.
Their slogan ‘Best for your pet’ sums up their ethos very well. They believe in sharing accurate information and un-biased industry research that benefits their customer before themselves.
We are providing ongoing website support and we continue to work with PetShed to improve their digital infrastructure. Our support includes hosting and web management where we work together to improve the site based on research and user data.
